SCHOOL OF PRELIMINARY AND REMEDIAL STUDIES (SPRS)

The School of Preliminary and Remedial Studies was established in 2005 by the Management of Kaduna Polytechnic with the objective of providing remedial and other bridging programmes for candidates desiring such alternative opportunities to launch themselves into tertiary level of education.

Consequently, the School runs the following Programmes:

• Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB)

The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) was set up in 1974, under the statutes 5 of the Ahmadu Bello University law, to run the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Examination, as an alternative to A’ Level Examination for students or candidates who may wish to seek for undergraduates admission into Ahmadu Bello University and other universities. The programme was envisaged as a bridge after secondary school education to prepare candidates academically, mentally and socially for challenges of university education.
